Symposium Introduction

One type of pollution is thermal pollution (power plants, industries often dump heated water in a reservoir that reduces the amount of oxygen increases the toxicity of contaminants, violates biological equilibrium). Resetting the warm waters of the enterprises is unfavorable factor for aerobic organisms that live in fresh water. In the warm water oxygen is poorly soluble, and its deficiency results in some places many organisms to death.

Pollution of the oceans.

Are heavily polluted waters of the seas and oceans. With the river runoff, as well as from maritime transport, in the sea comes pathogenic wastes, petroleum products, salts of heavy metals, toxic organic compounds, Including pesticides. DDT was found even in the body of penguins living in the Antarctica. Pollution of the seas and oceans has reached such proportions that in some cases caught fish and shellfish are unfit for consumption food.
